BLA Claims Responsibility for Three Attacks in Sindh and Balochistan
QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson, Azad Baloch, has publicly acknowledged the group’s involvement in three recent attacks targeting Pakistani forces and installations.
Two incidents targeted exploration company machinery and vehicles in Balochistan’s Dukki and Kharan regions, while a third attack occurred on a gas pipeline in the Mirpur Khas area of Sindh.
On March 14, an 18-inch diameter gas pipeline was destroyed in an explosion in the Shahi Road area of Mirpur Khas, Sindh. This attack disrupted the supply of natural gas from Balochistan to Karachi and other areas.
The BLA has claimed responsibility for the attack, citing opposition to what they perceive as the exploitation of Balochistan’s natural resources by Pakistan.
Earlier, on March 8, the BLA carried out two separate attacks on exploration companies and their installations in Dukki and Kharan regions of Balochistan.
In Dukki, BLA fighters targeted an oil and gas extraction company, resulting in the deaths of at least two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.
Azad Baloch stated that during the attack, remaining FC personnel and company operatives managed to escape, while the attackers set fire to machinery before fleeing the scene.
Additionally, on the evening of March 8, BLA fighters attacked vehicles on Garuk Road in Kharan, which were transporting precious stones from Saindak, Balochistan.
This assault resulted in the death of driver Mohammad Hanif and injuries to his assistant, as well as damage to the vehicles carrying precious stones from the Saindak project.
Azad Baloch reiterated warnings to transport companies, owners, and drivers, urging them to refrain from supporting what the BLA sees as the Pakistani government’s exploitation of Balochistan’s resources.
Azad Baloch emphasized, “BLA will continue its resistance against the plundering of Balochistan’s national resources without compromise.”
