Balochistan: A Rise in Attacks Against Iranian Forces
SARAVAN: At least six Iranian security officers were killed during an ambush in the PasKoh region of Sib Suran in Saravan on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
Iranian forces’ vehicles were on patrol when they came under attack, resulting in the deaths of six personnel and the injury of two others.
According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, an informed source disclosed to them that the assailants from Jaish al-Adl utilized silencers during the ambush.
The IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency confirmed that five law officers were killed at the scene of the clash, with one succumbing to injuries after being rushed to the hospital due to the severity of the wounds.
The identities of the killed officers have been ascertained as Mohsen Kamali Doost, Isaiah Bazzi-Allah-rey, Kazem Mollaei, Hossein Sardashti Birjandi, and Behzad Barani.
Separately, in another attack, at least two Iranian security personnel were killed in the Sarjangal region of Zahedan on Saturday.
The slain officials were named Mohammad Rodabi, son of Rahm Dil, resident of Sabzwar, and Ali Qasmi, son of Ali Raza, resident of Zahedan.
Jaish al-Adl, a Baloch militant group that claims to fight for the rights of the people of Iranian-Occupied Balochistan, has claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks on the headquarters of IRGC and other Iranian forces in Chabahar and Rask a week ago.
The group claimed to have killed at least 200 Iranian soldiers and lost 18 fighters.
Iranian military sources confirmed the deaths of 16 members of the Iranian forces, 12 of whom were members of the IRGC, while four others belonged to other security agencies.
Jaish-Al-Adl (Army of Justice) also claimed to have seized and destroyed the Arsenal of the IRGC headquarters.
However, Iranian emergency services told the media that at least 93 security personnel were wounded in Chabahar and Rask attacks, with many of them critically injured. At least five of the wounded personnel of Iran’s forces died a few days later in medical care.
Tens of injured Iranian security forces personnel were admitted to Khatim-ul-Ambia Hospital in Iranshahr, Zahedan, and Tehran, and medical staff were under strict instructions not to disclose the names of the wounded officers.
