Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Pakistani Forces Abduct Four Baloch Youths from Gwadar
QUETTA: On May 22, 2024, Pakistani forces abducted four Baloch youths from district Gwadar in Balochistan.
Family members of Muhammad Waheed son of Ali Muhammad and Nusrat son of Abdul Rehman, informed media sources and human rights groups that Pakistani army personnel abducted the two youths from a diesel depot in the Gatti Door area of Gwadar.
Relatives added that both youths have been involved in the fuel business for several years to support their families. Their abduction and disappearance have caused concern and distress for their loved ones.
The families demanded that the authorities, including Gwadar’s Parliamentary Representative Maula Hidayat-ul Rehman, intervene to secure their release and protect peaceful fuel traders from state institutions misusing their power against poor traders.
The relatives also expressed fear that the youths were forcibly disappeared to extort money.
Meanwhile, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, an organization representing the families of abducted Baloch, reported that two other youths, Tariq son of Murad Jan and Hakeem son of Majeed were abducted from the Hinglaj area of Gwadar on May 23, 2024.
Baloch Human Rights activists and families of abducted Baloch report that Pakistani security agencies have recently intensified enforced disappearances across Balochistan, claiming thousands of Baloch are in the illegal custody of Pakistani forces.
The Voice of Baloch Missing Persons has demanded the immediate release of all abducted Baloch including the four youths who were recently disappeared from Gwadar.
