Wives of Missing Government Employees Demand Immediate Return of Husbands
QUETTA, June 30, 2024 – Zaheer Ahmed son of Dr. Haji Abdullah and a government clerk at the Pakistan Post Office in Quetta, has been missing since June 27, 2024.
His wife, addressing a press conference in Quetta, expressed profound concerns over his disappearance and urged for his immediate return.
Describing Zaheer Ahmed as a committed civil servant with no political affiliations, she emphasised his 15-year tenure at the GPO on Zarghoon Road, Quetta.
Recounting the events leading to his disappearance, she noted that Zaheer Ahmed left his office for home in Killi Bangulzai around 2 pm on June 27 but never arrived. He was abducted in broad daylight.
The wife further said that frequent raids and harassment by investigative agencies under the pretext of gathering information about their relatives.
She stressed the distressing nature of Zaheer Ahmed’s disappearance and demanded swift action from government and human rights institutions.
“I appeal to government institutions to prioritize the safe recovery of my husband,” she pleaded, “and call upon human rights organizations to intervene to ensure his safe return.”
She warned of potential protests alongside human rights and missing persons’ organisations if Zaheer Ahmed is not promptly located.
Appeal for Safe Recovery Of Dr. Abdul Hai Baloch
Dr. Abdul Hai Baloch son of Haji Muhammad Aslam from Bedi area, Awaran, Balochistan, has been missing since June 1, 2024.
His family members, including his wife Hina Baloch, Advocate Habiba Baloch, and Bakhtawar Baloch, have expressed deep concern over his disappearance.
Dr. Abdul Hai Baloch served as an operating theatre (OT) assistant at DHQ Hospital, Awaran. Despite 29 days passing since his disappearance, there has been no information or public disclosure about his whereabouts.
The family urgently appealed to all human rights organizations and activists to advocate for Dr. Abdul Hai’s safe recovery.
“We are deeply worried about the safety and well-being of Dr. Abdul Hai,” his family members stated in their appeal. “We urge authorities to intensify efforts to locate him and ensure his safe return to his loved ones.”
