Gwadar Remains Under Siege: Buses Banned from Boarding More Than 20 Passengers
QUETTA: Under a new law, passenger buses heading to Gwadar must obtain permission from the provincial government’s Deputy Commissioner (DC).
According to the details, the Deputy Commissioner has ordered passenger buses travelling to Gwadar to obtain an NOC (No Objection Certificate) because, without this NOC, no passenger bus will be allowed to proceed with its journey.
The provincial government has also banned passenger buses from carrying more than 20 passengers to Gwadar.
These buses are being stopped and inspected by police and other security personnel at Uthal Zero Point.
Local transporters have expressed concern over the new rule, stating that bus drivers must have an NOC from the Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar; otherwise, they will not be permitted to travel to Gwadar.
Sources report that several buses have been halted at Uthal Zero Point and have been waiting for clearance for at least two days, causing growing anger and frustration among the stranded passengers.
