Gwadar Rally Highlights Baloch Solidarity and Resistance
GWADAR, Balochistan – A significant rally led by Dr. Mahrang Baloch took place Thursday evening at Padizir Marine Drive, organised by the Baloch Solidarity Committee (BYC).
The event saw a large turnout, including many women, as participants marched from Syed Yadgar Chowk to the sit-in vigil where a gathering was held.
During her address, Dr. Mahrang Baloch announced plans for an “Oath Taking Ceremony” at the sit-in the following morning, emphasising the need for continued resistance and unity among the Baloch people.
She also announced the conclusion of the Raaji Machi (National Gathering) sit-in vigil in Gwadar, stating that participants would march to Turbat (Talar) and other cities in Balochistan before leaving for Quetta on August 12, 2024.
Dr. Mahrang Baloch praised the resilience of the Baloch people, who have continued to organise and resist despite significant challenges, including state-imposed barricades, violence, network shutdowns, and the martyrdom of youth.
She condemned these state actions but lauded the courage and patriotism of the people of Gwadar.
Reiterating that Raaji Machi is a national movement, Dr. Mahrang Baloch stated that the Baloch people share a common identity that transcends borders regardless of where they reside.
“There is no Western Balochistan or Eastern Balochistan; Balochistan is one, and it is our homeland,” she emphasised. She called for unity among all Baloch, from Sistan (Iranian-occupied Balochistan) to Makuran and Dera Ghazi Khan, to fight for their rights and a better future.
The rally also featured speeches from Dr. Sabiha Baloch and Sibghatullah Baloch, who echoed sentiments of solidarity and resilience.
The event served as a powerful demonstration of the Baloch people’s commitment to their national identity and their determination to resist oppression.
