Hyrbyair Marri Calls for Balochistan’s Unification
LONDON: Hyrbyair Marri, the president of the Free Balochistan Movement, on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), called for the unification and liberation of Balochistan.
Marri, a prominent leader in the Baloch freedom movement, drew parallels between the historical unification of East and West Germany and the current divided and occupied state of Balochistan.
In his post, Marri wrote: “The world strived and succeeded in the unification of East and West Germany. Balochistan has been divided into East, West and then further divided into clusters of administratively ruled areas. The world should come forward once again and now support Balochistan.”
He also emphasised Baloch unity and cooperation: “But the Baloch themselves, just as the Germans were, should be at the forefront and should unite and work for liberation and unification, and then the rest of the world will follow.”
Marri’s message concluded with a strong statement about the ownership of Balochistan: “Balochistan is for the Baloch people, not for the Persians and not for the Punjabis to rule.”
The reference to Persians and Punjabis reflects the Baloch resentment toward Iran and Pakistan as the occupying states and their ongoing human rights violations and atrocities against the Baloch people.
