FBM Announces to Dissolve Negotiation Committee for Alliance with Pro-Freedom Parties
LONDON – September 2, 2024: The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) announced on Sunday that its cabinet has decided to dissolve its negotiation committee to establish an alliance with Baloch pro-independence political parties.
This decision comes nearly two years and ten months after the committee was established in October 2021 to address political differences and create a unified strategy among pro-independence Baloch political parties.
The FBM’s initiative aimed to consolidate efforts and create a roadmap for cooperation to strengthen the struggle for a unified Balochistan. However, the alliance talks have failed to produce the desired results despite extensive efforts.
In its statement, the FBM emphasised the importance of unifying national power to achieve Balochistan’s independence. The movement expressed disappointment over the lack of enthusiasm and seriousness from other parties invited to start the negotiations. “Alliance cannot be based on the efforts of just one party; rather, for a long-lasting and principled alliance, all parties must come together with a national mindset and sincerity,” the statement read.
The FBM highlighted the challenges posed by the reluctance and non-seriousness of other parties, leading to the decision to dissolve the committee. However, the movement reaffirmed its readiness to pursue alliance efforts in the future, stressing that a unified national front is crucial to counter external threats and achieve its goals.
The FBM in its press release said that the committee will be officially dissolved two weeks from the statement’s release date. Despite this setback, the FBM remains committed to seeking unity among Baloch pro-independence parties, while underscoring the need for principled and sincere negotiations for any future alliance.
