Pakistan Military Offensives: Punjabi Army Will Not Succeed in Balochistan
Sister Of Abducted Baloch Doctor Demands Justice Amid Growing Enforced Disappearances
Quetta: The sister of the missing Dr. Abdul Hai Baloch has expressed her deep concern in a statement, stating that her brother, Dr. Abdul Hai, who was forcibly disappeared on June 1, 2024, is a resident of Awaran Bedi and a doctor by profession.
Before his disappearance, he was serving as an Operating Theatre Assistant at the DHQ Hospital in Awaran. For the past three months, he has been suffering in detention facilities, enduring punishment for crimes he did not commit.
She expressed regret that during this period, multiple conferences, social media campaigns, and peaceful protest demonstrations have been organized, but there has been no encouraging response from the government regarding his recovery, which is deeply disappointing.
“My Brother’s Disappearance and the Authorities’ Lack of Seriousness is Saddening and Painful,” Sister of Dr. Abdul Hai Baloch
She warned the government that if serious steps are not taken regarding her brother’s enforced disappearance and this governmental indifference continues, she will be compelled to consider taking more severe actions on behalf of the family.
Meanwhile, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has reported that the details of the enforced disappearance of Dil Jan have been provided to the organisation by his family.
Dil Jan son of Allah Bakhsh, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on June 12th of this year after being detained from his home in Mazaarabad, Teertej, Awaran. The family has not been provided with any information about his whereabouts.
Separately, the family of another forcibly disappeared person, Deen Muhammad Marri, has also provided details of his abduction to the VBMP.
According to the family, Deen Muhammad Marri son of Murad Khan, was illegally detained by the forces from his home in New Kahan, Hazarganji, Quetta on August 24th of this year and was subsequently forcibly disappeared.
Sammi Deen, daughter of the abducted Dr. Deem Mohammad Baloch, stated that Dil Jan Baloch, a resident of Awaran, was forcibly disappeared by security forces on June 12, 2024, and to this day, his family has not been given any information about the crime he committed or under what law he was forcibly disappeared.
She further mentioned that Awaran is an area that has been completely turned into a military zone, where almost every other household is affected by enforced disappearances.
However, such incidents have never been given any coverage in the country’s mainstream media. When a large number of people came out to protest against enforced disappearances, everyone was surprised, wondering what was happening in Balochistan that so many people had taken to the streets.
She added, “Your silence is further encouraging those who break the law, allowing them to repeat this unconstitutional and illegal act repeatedly.”
