Pakistani Forces Kill Two Brothers in Staged Encounter in Kalat
QUETTA: Pakistani forces conducted an offensive raid on a house in the Narmuk Drang area of Kalat and extrajudicially detained two brothers on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
The victims identified as Ismail and Habibullah (Habul) sons of Abdul Nabi Lehri were later killed in a staged encounter.
According to family sources, both brothers were labourers working in agriculture to support their household.
It is worth noting that the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistani military claimed that security forces conducted an operation in Kalat during which two suspected individuals were killed in an intense exchange of fire.
However, according to local and family sources, eyewitnesses reported that Pakistani forces forcibly detained the young men from their home, and after some time, executed them in a manner similar to that of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
The CTD is notorious for killing previously abducted Baloch prisoners in fake encounters and has in the past killed several dozen individuals in similar fashion.
Sources further stated that one of the brothers was also ill and dependent on medication for survival.
