Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Families of Enforced Disappeared in Balochistan Await Justice
QUETTA — The Baloch Voice for Justice has announced a campaign on X (formerly Twitter) to raise awareness and advocate for the recovery of Diljan Baloch, who was forcibly disappeared from Awaran.
The campaign is scheduled to run from 8 PM to midnight on September 13. Diljan Baloch son of Allah Bakhsh was abducted by Pakistani forces from the Tirtaj area of Awaran on June 12, 2024 and has been missing ever since.
The Baloch Voice for Justice has called on activists, political workers, journalists, students, lawyers, and the general public to participate in this campaign to amplify the call for Diljan Baloch’s recovery and to put pressure on authorities to act.
In related news, Farzana Rodeni, the sister of Saifullah Rodeni, a police constable from Surab who was forcibly disappeared on November 22, 2013, has also made headlines. She has urgently demanded the immediate recovery of her brother, who was abducted while travelling for duty from Surab to Khuzdar.
Since his disappearance, Saifullah has not been located.
Farzana Rodeni has criticised the Balochistan police for their inaction regarding her brother’s case. Instead of pursuing his recovery, the police suspended him from his job and suspended his salary, exacerbating the family’s financial difficulties.
Farzana described this situation as a “collective punishment” and has called on the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Inspector General of Police Balochistan, and human rights organisations to restore Saifullah Rodini’s salary and take immediate steps to locate him so that his family can be relieved from their prolonged suffering.
