Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Bodies of Two Baloch Teenagers Killed by Iranian Border Forces Handed Over to Family
DOZZAAP (ZAHEDAN) — The teenagers, identified as Waheed Dorrazaei, 17 son of Nawab, and Naweed Dorrazaei, 18 son of Abdullah, both residents of Ziarat village near Bamposht in Saravan, were reportedly killed on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
The bodies of two Baloch teenagers shot and killed by the Saravan Border forces in the Draaj Aap area of Ziarat in Bamposht Saravan, were handed over to their families on Friday, September 19, 2024, after a five-day effort by local elders and relatives, according to the rights group Haalvsh.
The two cousins had ventured into the border area near the zero point to visit their agricultural lands and Orchard when they were fired upon by the Border Regiment forces on their way back home without warning. Both boys were hit by over ten bullets, which struck them in the head, chest and face.
The families of the victims had to wait five days before the bodies were returned, following persistent efforts by community leaders due to the lack of response from the Iranian authorities.
This incident highlights the ongoing dangers faced by Baloch residents in the border areas of Iranian-Occupied Balochistan, where security and border forces frequently target civilians without adhering to military protocols.
Many in these areas rely on agriculture and livestock for their livelihood, but repeated violence from Iranian forces has led to the deaths and injuries of numerous citizens. Despite efforts by families to seek justice, such incidents remain unresolved, with authorities offering no recourse for the victims.
The tragic killing of Waheed and Naweed is the latest in a series of atrocities by Iranian forces in Balochistan.
