Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Construction Company and Chromite-Loaded Vehicles Attacked
QUETTA: Two separate armed attacks have been reported in Balochistan’s Kalat and Kharan regions on September 25 and 26.
In Kalat, armed individuals targeted a construction company working on the highway in the Khazina area on September 25.
The attackers set fire to machinery and equipment during the incident, and gunfire was exchanged at the scene. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties.
Meanwhile, in Kharan, armed men opened fire on vehicles loaded with chromite near Kunarri Cross today around 4 PM.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers ordered the drivers to exit their vehicles and let them go unharmed; however, the vehicles were damaged by gunfire.
This location has been a hotspot for previous attacks, with the pro-freedom armed organisation BLA claiming responsibility for earlier incidents. No group has yet claimed responsibility for today’s attack.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson, Azad Baloch, claimed responsibility for the attack on the construction company in the Khazina area of Kalat on September 25.
He stated, “Our freedom fighters attacked the company working on the road in the Khazina area of Kalat. During the attack, our fighters destroyed the company’s machinery by setting it on fire.
Our organization, the Baloch Liberation Army, takes responsibility for the attack.”
