Protest Continues in Kharaan as Families Demand Recovery of Loved Ones

QUETTA: The families of Amanullah Muhammad Hasni, a local trader from Kharaan, and Aminullah, Irshad Ahmad, and Dawood from Kalli Jungle, who were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces (CTD) on September 27, are in their third day of protest at Kharaan’s Red Zone.

A complete shutter-down strike was observed in the market as demonstrators gathered to voice their demands. The health of several relatives of the missing individuals deteriorated during the protests, resulting in multiple women being transferred to the hospital in a state of fainting.

The protest has seen participation from a large number of women, children, B.Y.C. activists, local dignitaries, political and social workers, farmers, lawyers, and teachers.

Despite the presence of women and children at the sit-in, no ruling authority or responsible individual has approached the demonstrators to offer sympathy or reassurance.

Protesters expressed that the behaviour of the district administration, elected representatives, and security forces is creating deep resentment among the people of Kharaan, which they believe poses a serious concern for the state.

They demanded the immediate recovery of Amanullah, Aminullah, Irshad Ahmad, and Dawood Baloch, warning that if their loved ones are not recovered soon, the protests will escalate.

In a related incident, Pakistani forces abducted two brothers in Panjgur, Balochistan, on the morning of September 30, 2024.

The brothers have been identified as Sabir Noor and Abid Noor sons of Noor Muhammad. They were taken into custody by the Pakistani forces from the Chitkan post office.
