Free Balochistan Movement Activists Hold Awareness Campaign in Scotland

GLASGOW — Activists from the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) conducted an awareness campaign in Scotland on October 1, 2024, marking two years since the Bloody Friday incident in Zahedan, the capital of Iranian-occupied Balochistan.

The event aimed to inform the public about this tragedy and the broader historical context of Balochistan.

During the campaign, FBM members engaged with local citizens, distributing leaflets and providing information about the events of Bloody Friday, which occurred on September 30, 2022. Iranian forces opened fire on peaceful protesters, resulting in over a hundred deaths and injuring around three hundred others. Many critically injured protesters later succumbed to their injuries.

The campaign also highlighted the historical occupation of Balochistan by British forces and its subsequent division between Iran and Pakistan.

Commuters and passersby expressed solidarity with the Baloch cause as FBM members explained the current situation in Balochistan, aiming to raise international awareness about the plight of the Baloch people under Iranian and Pakistani occupation.

The FBM seeks to draw attention to human rights violations and promote a greater understanding of the historical and political challenges facing Balochistan.

This campaign underscores the commitment of the Free Balochistan Movement to advocate for the freedom of occupied Balochistan.
