The FBM Condemns Mastung Tragedy, Announces Martyrs Day Events in Europe
LONDON: The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) has condemned the recent Mastung blast targeting school children as a part of the ongoing brutal policies of the Pakistani state against the Baloch people, describing it as a historic continuation of state-led oppression.
In a statement issued by the movement’s spokesperson, it was emphasised that these policies, which have long been a hallmark of the Pakistani regime, continue to this day and are likely to persist in the future, albeit in different forms.
The spokesperson underscored that the Mastung tragedy is not an isolated incident but is part of a systematic and ruthless pattern of violence aimed at suppressing the Baloch nation. “What happened in Mastung is a continuation of a long history of Pakistani state violence against the Baloch people. The occupying forces of Pakistan, along with their proxies, have waged a relentless war against the Baloch nation, and this war will continue in different forms in the future,” said the spokesperson.
The FBM called for the only viable solution to the ongoing atrocities: the complete independence of Balochistan. “The only way to end the horrors inflicted upon the Baloch people is through the complete liberation of a united Balochistan, where the Baloch people can regain control over their historic lands and centralise decision-making within their own hands, free from the influence of occupying powers,” the statement read.
Further, the statement strongly criticized the Iranian and Pakistani states for prioritising their expansionist ambitions over the lives and welfare of the Baloch people.
“Neither the Iranian nor the Pakistani occupiers have any regard for the suffering of the Baloch nation. They are willing to go to any lengths to continue the genocide of the Baloch people, knowing that international human rights organisations prioritise political and economic interests over the protection of human rights. Hence both states continue their atrocities and crimes against Baloch without fear of accountability,” the spokesperson remarked.
In addressing the way forward, the FBM spokesperson called on the Baloch nation to unite under a common cause: the liberation of Balochistan. “The only way to stop the barbaric actions of the occupying forces is for the Baloch to unite, setting aside personal and group interests, and work toward the formation of a strong, unified political institution that can safeguard Baloch collective interests and lead the struggle for freedom,” the FBM statement read.
The statement also highlighted the sacrifice of Baloch martyrs who have given their lives for the cause of freedom. “Thousands of known and unknown Baloch martyrs have given their lives for the liberation of Balochistan. Their sacrifices are a burden upon our shoulders, and we must continue to work towards their ideals and aspirations. We must oppose the colonial mindset of the Iranian and Pakistani states and chart the path of our struggle,” the FBM spokesperson emphasised.
The Free Balochistan Movement has announced that on November 13th, various events will be held across Europe to commemorate the sacrifices of Baloch martyrs. These events will also raise awareness about the ongoing human rights violations and the secretive, joint policies of Pakistan and Iran aimed at further suppressing the Baloch people.
“November 13th is a day to honour all Baloch martyrs and reflect on their sacrifices. It is a day to recommit ourselves to the struggle for the freedom of a united Balochistan, and to ensure that we continue our principled efforts until we achieve true liberation and control over our collective national decisions,” the statement concluded.
