BLA Honors Three Martyred Comrades in Kahan Attack
QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has paid tribute to three of its martyred members—Mohammad Deen alias Chakar Bolani, Shoaib Shahwani alias Riaz Baloch, and Asim Kurd alias Nazir Baloch—who were killed in an attack by death squads in Kahan on February 25, 2024.
According to a statement released by the BLA’s spokesperson, Azad Baloch, the three comrades were ambushed while returning to their frontlines after completing a special organisational mission. The death squads, operating under the direction of the occupying state forces, opened fire on the trio as they made their way through the region, leading to their martyrdom.
The BLA statement detailed the backgrounds of the fallen comrades, describing them as courageous and dedicated fighters for the national cause. Commander Mohammad Deen, alias Chakar Bolani, hailed from Chamalang and had been serving as a commander on the Bolan front for over a decade. Known for his integrity and strategic leadership, he had been in charge of several key operations in areas such as Bolan, Kohlu, and Kahan.
Commander Deen was the brother of Darvesh Baloch, BLA’s first Fidayee (self-sacrifice) martyr Darvesh Marri Baloch and Gul Hamd Marri, a senior comrade who also gave his life in the struggle for Balochistan’s freedom.
He was also the cousin of Mohammad Gul alias Waheed Baloch, who was martyred in an airstrike earlier this year. The statement emphasised that despite the ongoing repression of the Baloch people, Commander Mohammad Deen’s family, like many others, had been forced into exile but had consistently shown resilience and a commitment to making sacrifices for the cause of national freedom.
The other two martyrs, Shoaib Shahwani alias Riaz Baloch and Asim Kurd alias Nazir Baloch, had joined the BLA in 2023. Both young men were from the Saryab region in Quetta, with Shahwani hailing from Saryab Chakki Shahwani Shaheed Chowk and Kurd from Saryab Chiltan Gali. After brief service in Quetta, they left civilian life to join the frontlines, where they served courageously for just eight months, contributing to operations in regions like Koh-e-Dungan, Bolan, and Kahan.
The BLA’s statement described both martyrs as embodying the spirit of sacrifice, having given their lives for the national cause in such a short period.
In conclusion, the BLA vowed to bring those responsible for the deaths of Mohammad Deen, Shoaib Shahwani, and Asim Kurd to justice. The organisation pledged to hold accountable not only those directly involved in the attack but also their facilitators, vowing that such acts of violence would not go unanswered.
The martyred comrades are remembered for their unwavering commitment to the cause of Balochistan’s independence and their sacrifice in the ongoing struggle against state oppression.
