QUETTA: In a statement released on November 29, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a Pakistani Coast Guard vehicle near Bagwan Chowk in Jiwani area of Gwadar, Balochistan.

According to the BLA, the attack resulted in the deaths of two personnel and injuries to three others.

The spokesperson for the BLA, Azad Baloch, said that the freedom fighters targeted the Coast Guard personnel as they were leaving the Jiwani Bazaar and heading towards their base camp.

The group emphasised that every precaution had been taken to avoid civilian casualties during the attack.

“We once again instruct the Baloch people to stay away from the occupying forces at all times and in all places,” Baloch said in the statement.

According to the BLA spokesperson, the Coast Guard has been involved in daily killings and torturing of fishermen, depriving locals of their livelihoods.

“The Coast Guard’s actions are a direct attack on the lives and livelihoods of the Baloch people,” Azad Baloch said.

“We owe it to protect the lives and property of the Baloch nation, and our attacks on the occupying forces will continue with intensity and continuity until the independence of Balochistan.”
