Balochistan: Four Baloch Men Forcibly Disappeared, Body of Another Found in Kech
QUETTA: Four Baloch men were detained and taken by Pakistani security forces during an offensive raid in the Sholig area of Dasht, located in the Kech district of Balochistan.
The raid, which occurred at approximately 1:00 AM local time, saw the armed forces forcibly enter homes, break down doors, and reportedly torture the residents before taking the men away.
The detained individuals have been identified as Haji Hasil, his son Abdul Salam, Yasir son of Abdullah and Salem son of Qadirbakhsh. Families of the missing men have expressed deep distress, with no information provided by the authorities regarding their loved ones’ whereabouts or well-being.
The disappearances are the latest in a series of ongoing abductions and forced disappearances in the region.
In a separate incident, the body of another individual was discovered in the Kech district. The body, riddled with bullets, was found early this morning in the Jantari stream in the Belda area.
The deceased has been identified as Naveed son of Hameed, a resident of Gali Belda.
According to local sources, Naveed had left home with his vehicle the previous evening but did not return by late night.
His body was found in the stream the following morning, showing signs of torture and execution-style killing.
The murder of Naveed has sparked widespread condemnation, particularly from the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, which called the act a continuation of the dehumanization and genocide of the Baloch people.
“The extrajudicial killings of Baloch youth continue to rise day by day in Balochistan. Naveed Baloch is the latest victim of this brutal campaign,” the committee said in a statement.
Naveed, known for his vocal opposition to the abduction of Baloch individuals, had a personal history tied to state violence.
The BYC said that Naveed was also active during the Baloch Raaji Muchi to help.
Earlier this year, his brother and cousin were forcibly abducted by Pakistani forces. His cousin, Uzair, was taken just a week ago, and Naveed had been actively working to secure his release.
Despite visiting the detention camp twice in an effort to free Uzair, he was tragically killed after being forced to go there on a third visit.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee condemned the brutal murder of Naveed, stressing that such acts of violence against Baloch youth continue unchecked, with their bodies discarded as though their lives hold no value.
“We urge everyone to raise their voices in resistance to these inhumane acts,” the committee said.
Meanwhile, the International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (IVBMP) has also condemned the ongoing disappearances, labelling them a systematic repression that continues with impunity. The organisation expressed concern that global inaction will only embolden the perpetrators and perpetuate these human rights violations.
The IVBMP called on the United Nations, international human rights organisations, and the global community to break their silence and hold the Pakistani authorities accountable for the ongoing enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
The organisation warned that continued international silence risks further atrocities against the Baloch people.
