Balochistan: Pakistan Coast Guard Personnel Attacked in Gwadar

QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has taken responsibility for a bomb attack on Coast Guard personnel near the Jiwani lighthouse last night.

The attack resulted in the death of one Coast Guard member and the injury of another.

According to a statement issued by Azad Baloch, the spokesperson for the BLA, the attack occurred when Coast Guard personnel were on duty in the seaside area of Garian, Jiwani.

In the statement, Azad Baloch confirmed that BLA fighters were responsible for the attack, and reiterated the group’s ongoing struggle for Balochistan independence.

Authorities have not yet responded to the claim, and the condition of the injured personnel remains unclear.

The attack is one of several in recent months that have targeted security forces in Balochistan, a region that has long been a flashpoint for political unrest and insurgency.
