Balochistan: The Fate of Village Head Arrested by Iranian Intelligence Remains Uncertain

DOZZAAP (ZAHEDAN): Mohammad Naeem Jamshidzehi, the head of Chadarg village in the Irandegan district of Khash County, was arrested by Iranian Intelligence Forces (Ettela’at) on Thursday, November 29, 2024. He has since been taken to an undisclosed location, and no further information is available regarding his whereabouts.

Sources report that the Iranian Intelligence Forces raided Jamshidzehi’s home without providing any legal warrant or informing him of the charges against him. His arrest took place without any clear explanation, raising concerns about the legality and transparency of the operation.

Jamshidzehi, a married father of three, has been an active community member and held the village head role in Chadarg. His arrest has sent shockwaves through the local community, where he was well-regarded for his leadership and involvement in local affairs.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2024, reports confirmed that Jamshidzehi was transferred to the Iranian Intelligence detention centre in Zahedan. However, as of now, his family and community members have not received any information regarding his condition, the charges against him, or his future.

The arrest of Mohammad Naeem Jamshidzehi adds to a growing list of cases where individuals in Iranian-Occupied Balochistan have been detained by Iranian authorities under unclear circumstances. His family has called for his immediate release and seeking information on his situation.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the Iranian authorities regarding the arrest or the reasons behind it.
