Families Threaten to Block CPEC Road Indefinitely if Loved Ones Not Released

QUETTA: The families of Zaman Jan and Abul Hassan Baloch, who were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces, have vowed to block the CPEC road at the Hoship location indefinitely if their loved ones are not released by tonight.

This announcement comes despite previous assurances from both the government and the local administration.

The families of the two missing Baloch men claim that they were forcibly abducted after being called to the residence of Hothman Baloch, the Chairman of the District Council of Kech. In protest, the families had previously blocked the CPEC road at Hoship and staged a sit-in.

During negotiations with government representatives, they were promised that Zaman Jan and Abul Hassan would be recovered within two days. However, despite five days passing, the two remain missing, and the authorities have failed to provide any information about their whereabouts or the individuals responsible for their abduction.

The families have accused the district administration and government of harassment, saying that they have been subjected to false excuses and delays. They stated that their initial protest was called off after receiving assurances that their loved ones would be freed within the given time frame. However, with the government failing to meet the promised deadline, the families have resumed their protest by blocking the CPEC road once again.

They warned that if Zaman Jan and Abul Hassan are not freed by tonight, they will continue to block the CPEC road at Hoship indefinitely, escalating the protest until their demands are met.
