 Balochistan: BLA Takes Responsibility for Multiple Attacks on State Operatives

QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of bomb attacks targeting the hideouts of state operatives in the Kharan and Harnai districts of Balochistan.

In a statement released on January 9, the BLA’s spokesperson Azad Baloch, detailed two bombings in Kharan. The first, which occurred on the night of January 6, targeted the western entrance of a hideout belonging to military operative and state agent Latif Notezi, located near Bab-e-Kharan.

According to the BLA, the attack was carried out using a landmine.

The second attack took place on January 9, after sunset, when BLA fighters bombed the hideout of Shoaib Nosherwani, a provincial minister aligned with the Pakistani government.

The attack, which took place on Jungle Road, occurred in the presence of armed personnel.

Pakistani forces confirmed the attack on Nosherwani’s house adding no casualties were reported from the attack, though main gate of was damaged and some windowpanes of the house were also shattered.

In addition, the BLA also took responsibility for an earlier attack on a Pakistani intelligence agency office in Harnai.

On January 5, BLA fighters launched a hand grenade assault on the office of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency in the area.

The organisation claimed responsibility for this attack as well.

The BLA’s recent bombings follow a series of similar attacks against Pakistani military and intelligence targets.

The group, which has long been involved in armed resistance against Pakistan’s illegal occupation of sovereign Baloch state, has vowed to continue its fight until freedom of Balochistan.
