Protesters Block Quetta-Karachi Highway Over Forced Disappearance of 15-Year-Old Boy
QUETTA: Relatives and locals in Khuzdar, Balochistan, have staged a protest following the enforced disappearance of 15-year-old Anas Ahmad, demanding his immediate return.
According to reports, Anas son of Ahmad, a resident of Gazgi Khuzdar, was forcibly abducted by armed individuals today evening (29/01/2025) from Ismael Abad region.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee Khuzdar Zone has said that officials from Pakistani intelligence agencies were responsible for the abduction and that the young boy was taken away at gunpoint. Since then, Anas has been missing and his family is desperately seeking his recovery.
In response to the incident, locals and family members have organised a sit-in protest near Gazgi on the Quetta-Karachi main highway, blocking traffic in a bid to draw attention to the issue.
The protestors demanded that authorities take immediate action to locate and bring Anas back.
The relatives of the missing boy have warned that if he is not located and returned soon, they will intensify their protest, with the possibility of further road blockages and demonstrations.
The situation remains tense as local authorities have yet to comment on the abduction or the ongoing protests.
