Balochistan: Deputy Superintendent of Jail Killed in Quetta, BLA Claims Responsibility

Quetta: Police have confirmed that Muhammad Qasim Raisani, the Deputy Superintendent of Jail, was killed on Jail Road in Quetta, Balochistan, on Tuesday.

According to police, unknown attackers opened fire on Qasim’s vehicle, killing him instantly. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the assault.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the assailants.

Qasim’s body has been transferred to a nearby hospital for a medical examination.

Later in the evening, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the killing.

The BLA spokesperson, Azad Baloch, issued a statement confirming that their fighters carried out the attack on Qasim Raisani on the evening of February 4.

The BLA statement described Qasim Raisani as a key ally of known death squad leaders including Jamal Raisani and Farid Raisani.

According to the statement, he was directly involved in various criminal activities, such as the Baloch genocide, kidnapping for ransom, blackmailing and robbery across Quetta, Mastung, Kanak and surrounding areas.
