Balochistan: Young Man Returning from Dubai Forcibly Disappeared at Quetta Airport

QUETTA: A young man returning from Dubai was reportedly taken into custody by personnel of Pakistani intelligence agencies and forcibly disappeared from Quetta Airport on Sunday morning.

The victim has been identified as Fareed son of Muhammad Azam, a resident of Zorabad, Nushki, Balochistan.

According to sources, Fareed had been working in Dubai as a labourer for several years before returning to Balochistan.

Eyewitnesses and family members said that he arrived at Quetta Airport around 10 AM on Sunday when officials from Pakistani intelligence agencies detained him inside the airport and moved him to an undisclosed location. Since then, there has been no information regarding his whereabouts.

This incident follows a growing pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where activists and residents frequently report cases of individuals being taken away by Pakistani security agencies without any legal justification or formal charges.

Human rights organisations have repeatedly raised concerns over such incidents, calling for transparency and accountability from the authorities.

Family members of Fareed have urged the government and law enforcement agencies to provide information on his location and ensure his safe return. They have also appealed to human rights organisations to intervene and highlight the case.
