Gunmen Kill Man in Balochistan’s Kech District, Family Protests for Justice

QUETTA: A wave of violence continues in Kech district as armed assailants shot and killed a Baloch youth in the Tump area, sparking widespread concern among locals.

The victim has been identified as Kareem Dad son of Manzoor, a resident of Gomazi, Tump. The attack occurred in the Kohad area, where gunmen targeted the young man.

According to local sources, the attackers are linked to a state-backed crimianl group known as the “Death Squad.”

This is the second such incident reported in the area within a week. Just three days prior, another young man, Miraj, was similarly shot and killed by members of the same group.

The recurring incidents of targeted killings have raised serious security concerns among residents, who are now demanding urgent action to curb the violence.

In response to Kareem Dad’s killing, his family has staged a sit-in protest on the M8 Highway at Jadgal Dann (D Baloch Point) in Turbat, demanding justice and accountability.

The grieving family has brought the victim’s body to the protest site, blocking the highway as a form of resistance against what they describe as unchecked violence in the region.

The family members said that this is the second killing within their household, yet authorities have failed to take any action against the perpetrators. They traveled from Tump to Turbat to seek justice and have called on the Baloch nation to stand with them in solidarity.

“We have lost two young sons to these unknown assailants, and still, there has been no effort to apprehend the killers. We will not move until we get justice.”

They also urged the public to unite against the ongoing targeted killings, emphasising the need for collective action to bring an end to such violence.

The protests have disrupted traffic along the M8 Highway, drawing further attention to the worsening security situation in the district.

Local activists and political leaders have also begun voicing their concerns, calling on the authorities to take immediate steps to restore law and order in the region.
