FBM Leader Says Karma Has Caught Up to Pakistan Amid Regional Crackdowns

LONDON: Hyrbyair Marri, President of the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM), issued a sharp rebuke of Pakistan on X (formerly Twitter), saying that the country is now facing the consequences of its own actions. In a strongly worded post, Marri said that Pakistan’s treatment of Afghan refugees is now being mirrored in India’s reported crackdown on Pakistani nationals.
“What goes around, comes around, and it looks like karma has caught up to Pakistan,” Marri wrote. He criticised Pakistan’s recent deportation campaigns targeting Afghan refugees—particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), a region he referred to as “historically Afghan land.” Marri alleged that Pakistan’s efforts to expel Afghan nationals across the British-drawn Durand Line were intended to pressure and blackmail the Afghan government.
Turning to India, Marri drew parallels between Pakistan’s actions and recent reports that Indian states have been directed to identify and remove Pakistani citizens from within their borders in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack. “The script has flipped,” he wrote. “India has asked all of its states to start cracking down on Pakistanis within its borders, sending them packing in the same way.”
The FBM leader warned both Pakistan and Iran about their presence in Balochistan, stating, “The Punjabis and Iranians shouldn’t get too comfortable in Balochistan. Their fate in Baloch land is the same.”
Marri, a long-time advocate for Baloch independence, has repeatedly accused Pakistan and Iran of suppressing Baloch identity, exploiting the region’s natural resources, and committing widespread human rights violations.
His latest statement comes amid heightened tensions in South Asia, with growing international scrutiny of Pakistan’s treatment of suppressed nations, as well as its strained relations with neighbouring countries.
