Baloch Liberation Army Takes Responsibility for Attacks on Pakistani Forces

SHAAL (QUETTA):  The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has accepted responsibility for a series of attacks on Pakistani military positions in the Kalat region, resulting in significant casualties among Pakistani forces.

The attacks, which occurred over the course of several days in early June, targeted check posts in the Johan, Shekhari, and Mangocher areas.

On June 7 at 11:00 PM, BLA freedom fighters launched a heavy assault on a Pakistani forces post in the Johan area of Kalat. The attack left twoPakistani soldiers dead, according to the BLA’s spokesperson, Azad Baloch.

The spokesperson further stated that the BLA would continue its fight for an independent Balochistan, vowing to escalate the resistance until the formation of a sovereign Baloch state.

Earlier on the same day, at 9:00 PM, BLA fighters struck a Pakistani forces check post in the Shekhari area of Kalat. The attack lasted for hours, with the BLA utilising a combination of rockets and automatic weapons.

Three Pakistani personnel were killed, and three others were injured in the prolonged clash.

In response, the Pakistani military was reportedly forced to dispatch heavy contingents to the region to retrieve the bodies of the deceased and tend to the wounded.

In a separate incident on June 3, BLA fighters attacked a Pakistani military and Frontier Corps (FC) unit stationed in the Mangocher area of Kalat. The attack resulted in the deaths of two Pakistani soldiers, with another two injured.

According to the BLA, the assault was carried out after the Pakistani forces had surrounded the area in what appeared to be a preparatory manoeuvre for an aggressive action.

Azad Baloch reiterated the BLA’s unwavering commitment to its cause, stating, “We will continue this war until the formation of an independent and sovereign Balochistan.”

The BLA’s repeated strikes have intensified concerns over the security situation in the region, which has seen a rise in violent clashes between pro-freedom Baloch groups and Pakistani forces.

The Baloch Liberation Army is considered one of the key groups fighting for Baloch independence, advocating for the freedom of Balochistan from Pakistan and Iran, a region rich in natural resources but plagued by underdevelopment and political marginalisation.
