Baloch Political Prisoner Transferred to Zahedan Prison Quarantine

DOZZAAP (ZAHEDAN): Aamir Goharamzehi, a former political prisoner, has been transferred to the quarantine ward of Zahedan Central Prison following 15 days of incommunicado detention, according to the Baloch Activists Campaign.

Goharamzehi, a resident of the village of Nasirabad in Iranian Occupied Balochistan, was able to inform his family of the transfer during a brief phone call. His detention has taken place without any judicial order, formal charges or proven offense.

Human Rights observers raised concerns about the extrajudicial practices Iranian security forces.

He was arrested on July 2 after visiting a government office in the city of Rask to inquire about a vehicle that has remained confiscated since a 2014 raid by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on his village. That operation led to the arrest of several young Baloch men, including Aamir Goharamzehi, Mosaib Vatan Khwah, Abubakr Molazehi and the seizure of multiple vehicles.

Despite the passage of over a decade and repeated legal efforts by the owners, the vehicles have not been returned — and some are reportedly being used by local officials for personal purposes.

Goharamzehi had previously been arrested in 2015 and imprisoned for more than four and a half years before being released on heavy bail.

His latest arrest, while attempting to follow up on his still-impounded vehicle, has sparked renewed attention to the treatment of Baloch activists and the long-standing grievances surrounding property seizures and arbitrary detentions in of Baloch people across Iranian Occupied Balochistan.
