Balochistan: One Man Killed, Second Missing After Iranian Military Attack

DOZZAAP (ZAHEDAN): A Baloch man was fatally shot by military forces on Saturday at the Parood junction in the city of Rask, according to reports from the Baloch Activists Campaign. The incident occurred when military personnel opened fire on a Toyota Land Cruiser, killing the driver and leaving the whereabouts of the second passenger unknown.

The victim has been identified as Shahram Watan Khwah, a 26-year-old resident of Nasirabad village in Sarbaz County. He was travelling with Balal Bahramzehi, 25, also from Nasirabad. Balal’s current condition and location remain unknown, raising concerns among local residents and rights groups.

Sources reported that the vehicle came under fire shortly after passing the Parood junction. According to eyewitnesses, Shahram was struck by a bullet and died at the scene.

There are reports suggesting that Balal may have been injured during the incident. However, inquiries made at Velayat Hospital in Rask revealed that he had not been admitted there, and no official information has been released regarding his fate.

This shooting adds to growing tensions in Iranian Occupied Balochistan where human rights organisations have frequently reported excessive use of force by Iran’s security personnel, particularly against members of the Baloch community.

Local activists have called for an independent investigation into the incident and for transparency about Balal Bahramzehi’s condition and whereabouts.

The Iranian authorities have not yet issued a public statement.
