Balochistan: Protest Against Shelling on Residential Homes in Hoshap
SHAAL, BALOCHISTAN: A deadly mortar attack by Pakistani military forces on the civilian population in the Hoshap area of Kech district left five young girls injured, one of whom died from her injuries. The attack, which took place on November 28, 2025, targeted a residential area, causing widespread panic and distress among local residents.
One of the girls, Aziza Nasir, who was critically injured, was initially treated at Turbat Teaching Hospital before being referred to Karachi due to her worsening condition. She passed away en route to the hospital in Karachi.
In response to the indiscriminate shelling, affected families and local residents organised a protest sit-in on the M8 highway, halting traffic completely. A large number of people, including family members of the victims, joined the demonstration to voice their anger and demand justice.
The protesters described that attack as a severe human tragedy and a violation of basic human rights. They called for immediate action against those responsible for the attack, demanding that the authorities be held accountable for the deaths and injuries of innocent children.
Local residents expressed their outrage, saying that the injury of children and the death of one girl raise serious questions about the role of state institutions and the government in ensuring the safety of civilians in the region.
