Balochistan: Teenage Son Commits Suicide After Father’s Murder
DOZZAAP, BALOCHISTAN: A 19-year-old teenager ended his life hours after his father, a municipal employee and children’s park guard, was shot dead by unknown armed assailants on Saturday evening, the Baloch Activists Campaign reported.
The father, Kamran Narouei, was inspecting the city’s children’s park when he was targeted. He died after being struck in the neck. His son, Mohammad Mehdi Narouei, who had lost his mother years earlier and lived with his father, reportedly took his own life following the incident.
Both were residents of Mohammadan, in Bampur County. No group has claimed responsibility, and authorities have not released further details.
According to the Baloch Activists Campaign’s 2024 report, the region saw a rise in armed attacks, with at least 488 people killed or injured in 363 reported incidents.
According to Baloch rights groups, Iranian security forces routinely patrol the region, targeting Baloch citizens and fuel carriers. Murders and kidnappings occur with no official response, raising serious concerns about the Iranian government’s deliberate silence on these crimes.
