FBM Stages Human Rights Day Protest Outside International Court of Justice
The Hague: The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) Netherlands chapter held a protest outside the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on International Human Rights Day, calling attention to long-standing human rights violations in Balochistan by Pakistan and Iran.
According to the organisers, the demonstration aimed to highlight the decades-long concerns raised by Baloch activists regarding enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and political repression.
FBM representatives reiterated their position that both Pakistan and Iran are “occupying powers” in Balochistan and accused them of attempting to suppress Baloch national identity.
Speakers from the movement addressed attendees, including members of the public and journalists, outlining systematic abuses against Baloch civilians.
Demonstrators held placards and delivered statements urging the international community to pay closer attention to the situation.
Advocate Sadiq Raisani, a central member of FBM and head of its Tribal Affairs Department, took part in the demonstration and provided detailed remarks on human rights violations in the region.
He criticised the widespread use of enforced disappearances by Pakistani security forces targeting activists, students and ordinary residents.
Raisani also condemned the rising number of executions and extrajudicial killings reported in Iranian-occupied Balochistan, saying that these actions pose serious risks to the lives of Baloch people.
FBM leaders called on global human rights organisations and international institutions to investigate the situation and to take steps to ensure the protection of fundamental rights in Balochistan.
