Rally in Germany: FBM Condemns Pakistan and Iran State Violence in Balochistan
Düsseldorf: On Saturday, 19 September 2026, the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) Germany Branch organised a protest demonstration at Marktplatz, Düsseldorf. The event condemned ongoing military operations carried out by the Pakistani state in Balochistan and commemorated the Zahedan “Bloody Friday” (30 September 2022) massacre of peaceful protesters and the Khash massacre (4 November 2022) in Iranian-Occupied Balochistan.
Demonstrators displayed banners and placards calling on Western governments, international human rights organisations, and global bodies to hold Iranian and Pakistani authorities accountable for civilian harm and enforced disappearances. Activists also distributed German-language educational leaflets to local passersby, providing context on the political, economic, and security challenges facing the Baloch people.
A core focus of the demonstration was honouring the victims of Pakistan and Iran state-sponsored violence. Speakers paid tribute to those killed during the brutal crackdown in Zahedan—the capital of Iranian-Occupied Balochistan—where Iranian IRGC forces fired live ammunition, tear gas, and metal pellets outside the Makki Masjid following Friday prayers on 30 September 2022. Human Rights Organisations estimate that over 90 civilians, including women and children, lost their lives during this incident.
FBM activists also commemorated the Khash massacre, where another 18 peaceful protesters were killed by Iranian security forces. In both instances, protesters were demanding justice for Maho Baloch, a young girl who was sexually assaulted by the Chabahar police chief during interrogation.
Speakers at the demonstration included Abdul Wajid Baloch, Beebagar Baloch, Ashfaque Baloch, Hassan Azizi, and Vshma Baloch. Additionally, Arab activists from Al-Ahwaz, including Mohsen Rashidi from the Ahwaz Organisation for the Defence of Human Rights and Jamal Ahwazi, expressed solidarity with the Baloch people and paid tribute to the victims of Iranian state violence.
Speakers stated that Pakistani forces continue to commit crimes and atrocities across Balochistan under the guise of security operations. Ongoing enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and staged encounters of previously abducted Baloch prisoners have become routine practices for the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Recently, Pakistani forces have also initiated media trials of abducted individuals, coercing disappeared men and women into holding press conferences to speak against the Baloch struggle.
Similarly, in Iranian-administered Balochistan, the state has deployed thousands of foreign proxy fighters, such as the Shia Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun brigades, across the region. These groups have established check posts in various areas to harass and humiliate Baloch families. Activists noted that amid recent geopolitical tensions, the Iranian state has also escalated the execution of Baloch prisoners.
The Free Balochistan Movement reiterates its commitment to peaceful advocacy for the freedom of a united Balochistan. The FBM demands that the international community end its indifference toward the Baloch nation and hold both Pakistan and Iran accountable for their ongoing campaigns of atrocities and the systematic oppression of the Baloch people.
