Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
BYC Calls for Impartial Investigation Into Pakistani Army’s Accusations
QUETTA: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned the Pakistani military’s recent press conference, which targeted the committee and accused it of working on a foreign agenda.
In a statement, the Committee’s spokesman said that the military’s actions are a clear indication of its fear of the growing strength and peaceful resistance of the Baloch people.
The spokesman accused the Pakistani army of being directly involved in the ongoing genocide and human rights abuses in Balochistan. BYC argued that the military’s press conference against the Baloch Yakjehti Committee serves as an acknowledgement of these crimes.
The spokesman also challenged the military to allow an impartial third-party investigation into the claims, stating that the Committee would accept any legal consequences if the allegations were true. However, if the allegations are not substantiated, the spokesman demanded that the military confess to its role in the Baloch genocide and accept punishment.
BYC’s statement further added that the military’s actions reflect the broader reality in Pakistan, where a persistent military dictatorship undermines democracy and the rule of law.
The spokesman reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to its peaceful political struggle, vowing not to be intimidated by the military’s attempts to suppress the movement.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee maintained that their movement is purely based on the principles and ideology of the Baloch people, rejecting accusations of foreign influence or funding.
The BYC reminded the Pakistan army that it was known to the whole world that “receiving external funding and acting as external proxies are part of your tradition.”
They pledged to continue their efforts to end the Baloch genocide and expose the ongoing oppression in Balochistan to the world.
