Balochistan: CTD and FC Shot Dead a Wounded Baloch Youth in Turbat
QUETTA: The Pakistan Frontier Corps and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) shot and killed a wounded 16-year-old student, nursing assistant at the Civil Hospital Turbat, on Tuesday evening.
The victim has been named as Israr son of Rashid Baloch, had been working to support his family.
According to a statement by BYC, the incident began with a blast at Talimi Chowk, Turbat, which left three passersby, including Israr, injured. Along with Waseem Akram and Amir Waseem, Israr was rushed to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment where his condition was said be stable.
However, during his treatment, Israr was forcibly taken by CTD and Frontier Corps personnel. Later, his family was notified that his lifeless body had been placed in the morgue.
When the family went to collect his body, intelligence agency officials demanded that they sign a false and illegal document declaring Israr Baloch a terrorist. The family refused to sign the fabricated document, insisting on the innocence of their son.
Despite their objections, the authorities refused to hand over the body until the document was signed. After significant resistance, Israr’s body was eventually returned to the family.
Israr had sustained only minor injuries from the blast while passing through Talimi Chowk, but was abducted from the hospital under mysterious circumstances. When his body was returned around 2:00 am, it showed signs of severe torture, including bullet wounds. His body was also wrapped in a Pakistani flag.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned the cold-blooded murder of Israr Baloch, emphasising that the labelling him as a terrorist appears to be a deliberate attempt to justify his killing. Witnesses at the scene have confirmed that Israr was simply a passerby at Talimi Chowk during the blast and had no involvement in the incident.
