Balochistan: VBMP Protest Camp Continues for 6,394th Day in Quetta

SHAAL (QUETTA): The protest camp organised by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) outside the Quetta Press Club continued for the 6,394th day, with family members of Abdul Rehman Marri joining the demonstration to demand information about his whereabouts and his safe recovery.

According to a statement issued by the organisation, Marri was forcibly disappeared from New Kahan, Hazarganji, on January 13, 2015.

His family members said that more than a decade had passed since his disappearance, but he had neither been presented before a court nor had authorities provided information about his whereabouts.

They said the prolonged uncertainty had caused severe distress and suffering for the entire family. The relatives appealed to senior authorities to ensure Marri’s safe recovery and inform them of his condition and location.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch reiterated the organisation’s demand for the recovery of Marri and all other forcibly disappeared persons in Balochistan.

He said the state was responsible for informing families about their missing relatives and ensuring that anyone in custody was presented before the courts in accordance with the law.

Baloch also called for an end to enforced disappearances, urging the authorities to resolve all missing-persons cases in accordance with the Constitution and legal procedures.

The protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club is part of the VBMP’s ongoing campaign seeking answers about missing persons in Balochistan. Families of missing individuals have repeatedly called for information about their loved ones, accountability and legal action in their cases.
