British MP raises Balochistan issue at foreign office questions in parliament
LONDON: A Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom and Member of Parliament for Harrow East has raised the issue of human rights abuses against people of Balochistan in the UK’s parliament during at foreign office questions.
MP Bob Blackman later tweeted, “At foreign office Qs raised the human rights abuses against people of #Balochistan and desire for freedom from occupation by Pakistan.”
A video clip of the foreign office question was later also posted where Mr Blackman asked, “What representations my honourable friend mad to the government of Pakistan about human rights abuses and desire for freedom in Balochistan?”
Replying Bob’s question the Foreign Minister Mr Roy Stewart said, “About Balochistan, we continue to raise human rights issues with the government of Pakistan.”
In February 2017, Mr Bob Blackman and other MPs attended a seminar titled “History of Balochistan Revisited” about Balochistan at UK parliament.
A representative of Baloch leader and head of Free Balochistan Movement Hyrbyair Marri, Khan Kalat Mir Suleman Daud Khan and Dr Badal Khan Baloch among others spoke in detail about Balochistan’s illegal occupation by Pakistan and ongoing human rights violations.
