 Balochistan: Pakistani forces demolishes Baloch houses in Hub Chowki

Unabated state violence continues against Baloch people across Balochistan, several people abducted since the beginning of New Year.

The Pakistani Police and FC in a joint operation have reportedly bulldozed at least 60 houses of Marri Baloch population in the industrial town of Hub Chowki Balochistan on Wednesday.

Source reported that Pakistani security forces surrounded ‘Mir Mita Khan Marri Goth’ and demolished the houses in an act wanton aggression. The residential area consisted more than 60 houses and the forces destroyed majority of them.

According to resident of the area the Pakistani forces not only bulldozed houses but they also looted valuables including cash, motor bikes and other belongings of the inhabitants. Three residents of Mir Mita Khan Marri Goth have also been abducted.

The residential area ‘Mir Mita Khan Marri Goth’ was built in 1960 where Baloch people mostly Marri Baloch are residing and most of these people work in industries in Hub Chowki to help sustain their families.

The Sakuran region of Hub Chowki has been under constant threats and raids of Pakistani forces from past many years. Several residents of this area were abducted and killed under the state’s kill and dump policy and several are still languishing in the illegal custody of Pakistani forces.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistani forces have accelerated their barbaric attacks against Baloch people from the very first day of 2015 by conducting brutal military operation in Mashky, Panjgur, Turbat, Pasni, Barkhan, Kohlu, Dera Bugti and other regions of Balochistan.

Four people were abducted at gunpoint from Zaro Chah area of Noshki on 13 January, 2015. Sources reported that victims Khoda Raheem Mirwani, Ramatullah Samalani, Alam Gull and Wali Mohammad were going from Noshki to Chaghai when armed men stopped their car and abducted them.

Wali Mohammad later managed to escape from custody of his captors but whereabouts of other three people along with their car remains unknown.

On 12 January, 2015 the state forces conducted a search operation in Ryk Chah and other surrounding areas in Awaran and abducted at least two Baloch activists.

Separately, mutilated body of Mohammad Ameen son of Rasool Bux Sumalani was found dumped in Kaladhi region of Naal in Khuzdar, Balochistan on 12 January.

On 11 January, 2015 the unknown persons set a primary school on fire in Killi Wazir Khan area of Daalbandin area of Balochistan. This, however, was not the first incident of attacks on schools in Balochistan. Earlier state backed religious groups have attacked several schools in different area of Makuran Balochistan.

Baloch pro-freedom parties have blamed Pakistani security forces and their proxy criminal gangs for attacking schools and teachers across Balochistan.

On January 5, 2015 Pakistani forces conducted raids in Panjgur Bazar and extra judicially arrested Sakhi Dad, Mazar Baloch and Aslam Baloch. In a similar raid Ejaz son of Mubarek Ali and Abdul Razzaq son of Saeed Mohammad were abducted from Kharan region of Balochistan.

Baloch pro-freedom parties and leader have continuously been appealing the United Nations and rest of the civilised world to take notice of Pakistani security forces crimes against humanity in Balochistan but so far there has been no action either from the UN or other international human rights organisations.
