 Balochistan: Pakistan military plans ‘Grand Operation’ in Makuran

Pakistan military and other security forces have announced to conduct a grand military operation in Makuran region of Balochistan and have ordered the local population to vacate the area.

The operation was announced after a high level security meeting held in Quetta headed of Chief Minister Doctor Malik and a number of Pakistani security forces official.

According to sources the military and Para-military forces have announced to deploy of 3000 additional troops, 10 gunship helicopters, armoured vehicles, and ambulances in the region to improve the ‘law and security’ situation.

Pakistani TV channels and Radios have reportedly been broadcasting warnings to the civilians to evacuate the area.

Local residents fear that the military is preparing for a fresh operations where indiscriminate force will be used against unarmed civilians.

Pakistan forces are already engaged in military operations in different areas of Balochistan. On Sunday forces carried operations in Kohwah and Naseerabad areas and subjected local resident to torture and harassment.

On Friday at least three Baloch fighters were killed in a firefight against Pakistan forces in Mach area of Balochistan who were identified as Rahmdil aka Mama, Zamuri and Adam Khan Marri Baloch.

In a statement issue to media on Saturday the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said that the men were members of their organisation.

The BLA awarded Rahmdil aka Mama with title of ‘Sagaar’ on Sunday, Meerak Baloch a spokesperson of the BLA said that due to his great service and bravery he has been awarded with this title.

Baloch pro-independence parties and leaders say that Pakistan has been committing gross human rights violations and war crime in Balochistan since it occupied the sovereign country in 1948 at gun point.

Analysts believe that the fresh operations is being conducted as result of an attack on an FWO construction camp on Friday night in which 20 workers were killed.
