 Balochistan: Tortured bodies of three previously missing Baloch found, several others abducted

Despite the ruling NP party’s claims of a decrease in number of enforced-disappearances, the abduction and kill and dump policy of Pakistani security forces continues to rise with deployment of more troops and military operations across Balochistan.

According to Balochistan local media reports two bullet-riddled mutilated bodies were handed over to the local administration on 1st May, 2015.

The victims identified as Ameer Bakhsh and Mohammed Jumma, residents of Gorkahi in Mashkay, were among five Baloch abducted by the army from a Baloch home two days ago (on 29, April). Fate of three other forcibly disappeared persons Illahi Bakhsh, Muhib Karim Bakhsh and Siraj Raja remain unknown.

On 28 April, 2015 Pakistani forces abducted at least seventeen Baloch activists during a raid in Parome area of Panjgur. The victims of enforced-Disappearance were named by local residents as: Khalid son of Haji Mohammad Essa, Rashid son of Aziz, Rasheed son of Khodabaksh, Jalil son of Malik, Waheed son of Hameed, Naveed son of Hameed, Amanullah son of Siddiq, Sanaullah son of Abbas, Raseesh son of Rafiq, Raashid son Rasheed, Omar Khan son of Moheem, Hafeez son of Beebagr, Omed son of Mohammad Saleh, Zaffar son of Mohamad Saleh, Rehman Bakhsh son of Mohammad Saleh, Idrees son of Daad Mohammad and Omar son of Mohammad Karim.

Most the people arrested during Panjgur operation were reportedly released but Idrees son of Daad Mohammad and few other are still being held by Pakistani forces.

Separately Pakistan security forces have dumped the tortured and mutilated body of Hafeez Younas Qambarani Baloch near Kalat on 24 April, 2015. Hafeez Younas was abducted on 14 April, 2015 in a military raid in Neemargh area of Kalat and was registered as missing since in the list of abducted Baloch activists.

According to a report in The Express Tribune, in early April the government quietly expanded the scope of a targeted military operation in Balochistan with the consent of the provincial government in an effort to dismantle the training camps of insurgents.

The report also quoted an anonymous security official as saying, “the paramilitary Frontier Corps is assisting the military in targeted operations against separatists [in Balochistan].”

Baloch social media activists and local sources from different area of Balochistan say that not a day passes FC and military operation. Pakistani forces intensified their offensive in Makuran and Gawadar regions after the Chinese president’s visit.
