Balochistan: Mobile phone company engineers’ office attacked in Kharan, Train line blown in Bolan

QUETTA: Pro-freedom Baloch resistance fighters have blown up a portion of the railway track in district Bolan and hurled hand grenades at the office of mobile phone company engineers in Kharan Balochistan on March 8, 2018.

At least one non-local engineer has been injured in Kharan attack while no casualties have been reported in Bolan explosion.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Baloch Liberation Army, Azad Baloch, has accepted responsibility for both attacks in a statement to media on 9 March 2018.

In his statement to media outlets, Azad Baloch said that Pakistani companies have been installing mobile phone towers under the Universal Service Fund (USF) project in Kharan and other areas of Balochistan.

The BLA spokesperson said, “Instead of providing communication facilities to the residents, these companies are providing intelligence information to the Pakistani security forces.”

He charged that Chinese companies ZTE and Huawei are also providing technical and financial support to the project.

The BLA spokesperson has advised Baloch people not to become part of these Chinese companies and their Pakistan contractors’ anti-Baloch projects.

He also said that BLA fighters have blown up and heavily damaged the railway track in Mach area of district Bolan Balochistan which disrupted the train schedules.

Azad Baloch said, ‘BLA accepts the responsibility of both attacks and such actions will continue till the freedom of Balochistan.’
