Balochistan: Five Pakistani soldiers killed in Kahan attack, BLA accepts responsibility

QUETTA:  Five Pakistan soldiers died and three others have been wounded on Monday when they were attacked by Baloch fighters in Kahan area of district Kohlu Balochistan.

According to details, an eight-vehicle convoy of Pakistan army was returning after carrying out offensives against civilian populations when Baloch fighters targeted it with an IED.

Sources reported that one vehicle was destroyed and five soldiers on board were killed while three others have been wounded in the explosion.

Meanwhile, the Baloch Liberation Army spokesperson, Azad Baloch, informed media sources from an undisclosed location that BLA has targeted the convoy of Pakistan army at Takkaro Seyah in Seekhan Kaor region.

He said Pakistani troops have increased their activities and atrocities in that region since the past four days and have been conducting offensives against innocent people.

‘Pakistani forces also set several huts of Baloch villagers on fire,’ Azad Baloch added.

He said the BLA has targeted the convoy when it was returning from offensive in the area and added, ‘we will target state forces and their collaborators who are involved in looting Baloch national resources and strengthening Pakistan’s occupation in Balochistan.’

It is pertinent to mention that on Monday night BLA had fired several BM12 missiles on a Pakistani military garrison in Kahan which landed inside the garrison and caused heavy loses to the Pakistani forces.

Pakistani army and other security forces have lately intensified their offensives in different areas of Balochistan including in Kohistan Marri, Dera Bugti, Bolan, Kech and Awaran.

Baloch Human Rights groups and pro-freedom parties often allege that Pakistani forces target, terrorise, harass and abducted unarmed non-combats during their offensives.
