Balochistan: Pakistani forces abducted Eight including an M.Phil student from different regions
QUETTA: On Monday, May 11, Sana Siyahpad Baloch, an M.Phil student, was abducted by the Pakistan Frontier Corps and Local Levies in broad daylight from Jozhan area of Kharan and transferred to FC camp.
Sana Baloch is an M.Phil student at Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad and he is also the president of a literary forum named ‘Naseer Kubdani Literary Association.’
It may be recalled that a few days ago, the Pakistani army had abducted another two Baloch students named Nasir son of Pahlan and Jahanzeb son of Rafiq from Absar Turbat in district Kech Balochistan.
Sources told Balochwarna News that Sana Baloch was bathing at Jozhan River when with FC Kharan Levies reached the spot at around 5.30 pm and arrested him.
Local sources and eyewitness reported that Pakistani forces tortured and beat up Sana Baloch on spot before dragging him to their official vehicle.
He has been transferred to FC camp and has been missing since. His family members have not been informed about his whereabouts and well being.
In a similar offensive but in a different corner of Balochistan, on 11 May, Pakistani forces abducted three people during raids on their houses in Uch area of Dera Bugti district Balochistan.
The abductees have been named as Nihal Khan Bugti, Thara Bugti and Bakhsh Ali Bugti residents of Uch.
Previously, Pakistan forces several people during similar offensives from Uch and its adjoining area Zain Koh.
According to Republican News, the relatives of abducted persons often complain that Pakistani forces demand heavy ransom after abducting their loved ones.
Those who cannot afford to pay the Pakistani forces; their abducted persons are often killed in fake encounters and accused as being members of armed groups.
On Sunday, 12 May, Pakistani forces carried out offensives in different areas of district Kharan Balochistan and abducted three people.
One of the victims has been identified as Ali Jan whereas the identity of the other two could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, sources reported on Wednesday that on 1st May Pakistani forces have abducted Gulam son of Ghulam Rasool from Nizar Abad area of Tump in district Kech Balochistan.
It may be recalled that the abduction of Sana Baloch and others is a long-standing continuation of the state policy of disappearing highly educated Baloch youth in Balochistan.
The pro-freedom Baloch political parties and Human Rights Organisation based in Balochistan say that despite overwhelming evidence of the involvement of Pakistani forces in enforced disappearance in Balochistan, the international community and the United Nations have failed to make Pakistan accountable for its crimes against humanity.
