Balochistan: Four members of a pro-government armed group killed in Dera Bugti

QUETTA: Three members of a pro-government group were killed and two others wounded in a late-night attack on their camp in Balochistan’s district Dera Bugti on Sunday.

According to details, unknown armed men attacked the camp of a pro-government armed group in the mountainous region of Dasht Goran of Dera Bugti Balochistan. As a result of the sudden attack, at least three members of the government supported militia were killed and two others injured.

The dead were named as Tahir son of Shah Mohammad Shambani, Ghulam Sharif son of Dezak Shambani and Pir Bakhsh son of Dad Ali Shambani, while Rezagh son of Amir Jan Shambani and Hafizullah son of Hingo Shambani were injured.

Meanwhile, on Sunday morning another member of the same group was killed in a landmine blast as they tried to pursue the attackers who earlier killed their three members in Dasht Goran.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack until the filing of this report. However, in the past pro-freedom armed organisation – Baloch Republican Army – has accepted responsibility for attacks on government forces and pro-government armed militias.

The pro-government militias are accused of assisting Pakistani forces in carrying out offensives, arresting and killing of members of pro-freedom armed organisations and their sympathisers.
