 Balochistan: Pakistan army carried out offensives in Kech, Nasirabad and Dera Bugti

QUETTA: Pakistani security forces have conducted offensive operations in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti, Nasirabad and Kech districts in the past few days. The forces backed by gunships helicopters have reportedly burnt down several houses and arrested dozens of Baloch youth.

According to details, Pakistani forces have been conducting offensives in different areas of district Kech Balochistan since Friday evening.

The large-scale military offensives were initiated after an IED attack on Pakistani forces in Tagran area of Turbat in district Kech Balochistan on Friday. At least six Pakistani soldiers had died and fourteen others were wounded.

Eye-witness reported that despite the heavy presence of military troops in the region, Pakistani forces have also been using gunship helicopters to support the ground forces.

Several Baloch youths have been reportedly arrested in connection with Friday morning attack. However, the identity of the abducted youth could not be confirmed due to the continuous military siege in the region.

Separately, Balochistan’s Dera Bugti and Nasirabad districts also Pakistani army and other security forces have launched grand scale offensives.

According to details, hundreds of Pakistani ground troops backed by gunship helicopters have surrounded and started massive offensives in Saart Aaf, Madwaar, Cheghirdi, Sengsila, Godi and adjoining areas in Dera Bugti and Chattar, Paleji and adjacent in Nasirabad Balochistan.

The Pakistani forces have set ablaze dozens of houses during their offensives and at least two people have been arrested from Dera Bugti.

There have also been reports of shelling by gunship helicopters in mountainous regions of Dera Bugti; however, no casualty has been reported so far.

The affected areas are still under siege and communication with the besieged villages is almost impossible due to which the exact news of any damage to properties and casualties is yet to be confirmed.
