 Balochistan: patient dies due to Levies negligence in Dera Bugti

QUETTA: A patient lost his life after Levies official stopped his family for several hours who were taking him to Kishmore for treatment on Monday 30th of March.

According to details, Yar Mohammad son of Barri Khan Bugti, a resident of Pir Koh Dera Bugti has suffered severe appendicitis and suddenly fell ill.

The relatives immediately took him to Dera Bugti town for treatment but due to lack of medication, he was referred to Kishmore, Punjab.

However, when the patient’s family arrived at Sui Levies check post they were stopped for several hours under the pretext that they need permission from the Assistant Commissioner (AC) before leaving for Punjab.

The brother of the victim in a video appeal on social media said, ‘we have waited for several hours at the Levies check post where we were told that AC is sleeping and they [Levies official] are not allowed to wake him up.

‘We requested them repeatedly and even my brother told them that his condition is worsening but they did not allow us. My brother eventually died in pain and agony.”

He requested to high officials for justice and an investigation into Levies and AC behaviour which cause his brother’s death.
