Germany: FBM to protest against Pakistan’s nuclear test in Balochistan

BERLIN: The Free Balochistan Movement Germany branch has announced to hold a protest in front of Brandenburg Gate in Potsdam, Germany on Friday, May 28 at 2 pm.

The Free Balochistan Movement in a statement to the media said that Pakistan forcibly occupied Balochistan in 1948, since then Pakistan has been involved in systematic human rights violations to suppress the Baloch people’s resistance against the occupation.

“One of Pakistan’s numerous war crimes in of Pakistan is the testing of its nuclear weapons in Balochistan. On May 28, 1998, the state of Pakistan selected the Baloch territory for its nuclear weapons test against the will of the Baloch nation.”

The FBM said that Pakistan kept the Baloch in complete darkness and in the worst possible way violated the Baloch motherland. These experiments were carried out in the hills of Mount Qambran and Chaghai. As a result of these tests, a large area in Balochistan has been contaminated with nuclear radiation and toxic substances.

“The test site areas are now uninhabited and most of the plants and animals have died out due to nuclear radiation. The people in the region continue to suffer from different diseases and defects. Pakistan has never allowed an independent inquiry into the effects of these experiments on people and the environment,” FBM added.

The FBM’s statement further maintained that since Pakistan was an irresponsible state and has been supporting religious extremism in the region and around the world that’s why Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are a huge threat to the whole world, including Balochistan.

“The Free Balochistan Movement will organise the protest a part of its international awareness campaign for freedom of Balochistan and expose Pakistani state atrocities against Baloch nation.”

The Free Balochistan Movement has requested all Baloch in Germany and all other freeborn people who believe in human dignity and basic freedom of all people to join the FBM protest and play their moral role in the struggle for human survival.
