Balochistan: Iran’s Revolutionary Court issue death sentence of a Baloch woman

ZAHEDAN: A Baluch female prisoner was sentenced to death in Kerman prison by the Revolutionary Court of Iran for alleged drug-related charges.

According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, on Wednesday, March 15, 2022, a Baloch woman prisoner was sentenced to death in Branch 1 of the Kerman Revolutionary Court on drug charges.

The identity of the female inmate has been ascertained as Zarkhatoun Mazarzai resident of Khash Iranian Occupied Balochistan.

It is said that she was offloaded from a passenger bus by the military forces on 30 December 2017  at the Zangi Rayen check post in Kerman province when she was on her way to Shiraz.

The Iranian forces arrested and accused her of drug charges, an accusation that she has repeatedly denied.

The death sentence of Ms Mazarzai was announced on March 15, 2022, however, she protested against the decision of the Revolutionary Court of Kerman and appealed to the Supreme Court to review her sentence.

Baloch social media activists have initiated a Twitter campaign to stop the execution of Ms Mazarzai who the activists say is at risk of imminent execution.
